In an era where advancements in nanotechnology and carbon neutrality are becoming key benchmarks for technological development, the field of materials science, which deals with innovative nanomaterial synthesis techniques and surface and interface phenomena, is gaining increasing importance. While this laboratory is still in its early stages, we are embarking on a 'grand' and 'ambitious' endeavor to bring innovation to the science humanity has created over centuries. We are actively recruiting PhD candidates, not only from our own department of mechanical engineering but also from other disciplines and universities. Researchers wishing to apply for a postdoctoral position are encouraged to apply through the JSPS program, Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan.

About the JSPS Research Fellowship

There are no core hours. Faculty members will not excessively intervene in or force the research. We expect each individual to approach research with a 'steady, gradual approach like a turtle' and a 'never-give-up attitude like a panda,' no matter how many times they fail.
