The 7th Asian Symposium on Materials and Processing (ASMP 2024) was held in Chennai, India, from December 5 to 7. Dr. Hirata from our laboratory participated and gave a presentation at the conference. The city of Chennai was full of energy, with cars and motorbikes constantly bustling through the streets, making it quite a challenge even to cross the road. In contrast, the venue — Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) — was a lush, green campus teeming with wildlife such as deer and monkeys, resembling a natural park. On the final day of the symposium, participants joined an excursion to Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we explored ancient rock-cut temples and intricately carved stone monuments.
