We held our laboratory’s annual summer zaru soba party as a farewell gathering for Professor Li Han and Professor Dmitry Levshov.

As in previous years, the dipping sauce for the zaru soba was homemade by our research scientist, Kano. Everyone in the laboratory enjoyed zaru soba together while sharing stories about our research activities and memories of their time in Japan. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend a relaxing and enjoyable time together. Professor Han and Professor Levshov also enjoyed zaru soba, one of the traditional summer dishes in Japan. In the evening, we moved to Aobadai for the second part of the farewell gathering. We continued to enjoy each other’s company in a more relaxed setting and had a wonderful final evening together.

Professor Han and Professor Levshov, thank you very much for all your contributions and for conducting research with us during your stay in our laboratory. Through our research collaborations, we gained not only valuable insights into our respective research fields but also many opportunities for meaningful international exchange. We hope you enjoyed your time in Japan and that your stay will remain a wonderful memory for both of you.
