We are pleased to welcome Professor Li Han from the University of Turku, Finland, and Professor Dmitry Levshov from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, to our laboratory.

Professor Li Han is staying in our laboratory from June 8 to July 22 as part of a collaborative research project under the Collaborative Research Project in Biomedical Engineering. During his stay, he is working on optimizing the dispersion conditions of single-chirality carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and their integration with Tetra-PEG gels. He will also work on fabricating CNT gel samples with controlled electrical and mechanical properties to improve the functionality of CNT-based gel materials.

Professor Dmitry Levshov will be staying in our laboratory from June 22 to July 20 as part of the WRH Program, with the aim of promoting international education and research exchange. Our laboratory focuses on optical characterization of nanomaterials, functional nanodevices, and their applications in biomedical and healthcare fields. Professor Levshov’s expertise in chiroptical spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and higher-order structural analysis of one-dimensional carbon-based materials is highly complementary to our research in advanced nanometrology and nanomaterials. His visit is therefore expected to provide opportunities for further development of collaborative research. In addition, Professor Levshov’s research experience and international research network, developed through collaborations with multiple international research institutions, are expected to further promote international collaborative research and student exchange with researchers at our university.

Through the visits of both professors, we aim to deepen research exchange on one-dimensional nanomaterials, including CNTs, while further expanding our international research network.

We also held a takoyaki party with members of our laboratory to welcome both professors. It was a great opportunity to enjoy takoyaki together and get to know each other better in a relaxed atmosphere.
