Hirata has received the 2025 Open Innovator Award.

This award was established to recognize young faculty members and researchers who have made outstanding contributions to promoting open innovation at collaborative research hubs. By honoring such achievements, the award aims to further advance industry–academia collaboration.

In its third year (FY2025), a total of 11 young faculty members and researchers were selected. The award certificates were presented on March 19 by President Oshima.
